Review - Style Expertise Curl Creme

Hey guys!
So this morning when I woke up, I decided that I would have to write a new blog post! I have started school again (boo) so I need to make a WHOLE new schedule, I am so upset summers over :(
But I really wanted to write this!
I love reading reviews on different blogs, and I love them, as they help me decide what not to buy, and what to buy!
So I wanted to start my own review series on my blog!
So I have natural wavy/curly hair, but you never really have been able to see them, and they are always really messy, so I wanted to dress them up a bit by... let's say adding a top coat.
So I bought this:

This is the Style Expertise Define Texturing Curl Creme (a mouthful isn't it).
I JUST tried this, this morning, and I showered first, because it wouldn't have been as rich and shiny if I didn't :(
I used the VO5 shampoo and conditioner, but I'm sure you can use your regular shampoo that you use all the time (that's what i did)
I let it towel dry, as on the bottle is says: Rub a small amount between palms then work through towel dried hair.
I did this exactly, as I didn't want this to go wrong.

It is described to do: Deliver results to make your hair stand out from the crowed. This curl creme defines, separates and holds your locks to give you smooth, frizz-free curls that keep their shape.
I wouldn't say it does ALL those stuff.
I used this once or twice. Yesterday, before I ate, I put them on, and afterward I saw some curls, at the end of my hair, but not so much at the top.
I could only see waves, and some curls at the bottom of my hair this time.
I'm not to sure if I should have waited longer, but It didn't do much to my hair.

I can see 1 or 3 curls in my hair, but the rest is just waves.
As I said before, and as you can see, it's like ombre WAVES (starts out straight and then goes into waves) I do actually like the waves, and they DO keep their shape. I mean whilst I'm writing this, I still have waves that you can see very clearly.
I am not to impressed that it didn't do what it said it would do, but maybe it's just MY hair, and I'm not too sure though.
I have frizzy hair though (not TOO frizzy, I brush my hair and it's like a bush) and it DID take away my frizz as you can see. It left my hair very shiny, and again lovely waves.
I would recommend this to people who have naturally loose curls, because it will enhance your curls, and make them look more bouncy, as I tried it out on my friends hair, and she has very voluminous curls, she loved it!
I liked what it did to my hair. I would of LOVED it if it gave me curls though.

Overall, I probably would use this again, and if I ran out, I'm not to sure I would buy it again, but I mum uses it also, so maybe I will have a new bottle in my house in the next yeah *laughs*

This product smells... basically like clean hair, so I can put it on me quickly when I head off to school, and while I am on my way, I will let it do it's work! *Smells hair*

I would give this product a 4/5. I took away 1 point because it didn't give me curls that keep their shape but it did give me lovely waves.

Thank you so much for reading this post! Let me know what you want me review next in the comments!

I was not paid to review this, all opinions are my own.

  1. Hey. Thanks for the review. Your hair looks lovely in the pic by the way :). Do you use any other vegan products to control frizz? Thanks! Amy.

  2. I recently bought products from the Noughty range, as the Superdrug Style Expertise Curl Creme has been discontinued.

I really like the Noughty range, and their leave-in product (known as Taming Cream) seems to create ringlets for me - my hair is normally wavy/curly and frizzy. I'd be curious as to how this product works on your hair, so if you read this comment and don't mind doing so, please review it :).
